This beautiful bronze statue of Abel Salazar by sculptor Helder Carvalho can be seen in the Jardim do Carregal (Carregal Garden), in Porto. The imposing figure of Abel Salazar, since 2009, points discreetly towards the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar, a research institute of the University of Oporto. The granite pedestal of the monument and its location are due to architect Vasco Morais Soares.
