At the Facultade de Medicina e Odontoloxía of the University of Santiago de Compostela stands this bronze bust of the ophthalmologist and humanist Antón Beiras García, created by the sculptor José Molares.
On the plaque, the following text can be read:

The work was commissioned for the event Visibilizando a memoria (Making Memory Visible), a tribute held in recognition of the doctor’s commitment to Galician healthcare and to the Galician identity, held on 26 November 20221.
The event was attended by the Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela, Antonio López; the Dean of the Facultade de Medicina e Odontoloxía, Julián Álvarez Escudero; the Mayor of Santiago, Xosé Sánchez Bugallo; the Deputy Director General for Language Policy, María Lourdes Batán Aira; the coordinator of the Irmandade da Sanidade Galega, Flora Miranda; and Higinio Beiras, son of Antón Beiras García2.
