Eduardo Talamo’s Memorial Tablet

This memorial tablet of Eduardo Talamo inside the first Casa dei Bambini of Maria Montessori in Rome, remembers his work as director of the Roman Institute of the “Beni Stabili”. He supported the project for the improvement of the conditions of popular buildings by adding a strong educational element for the community, a school for children within the home, a place that would bring together children of different ages1.
Maria Montessori took part in the project as educator understanding its social and pedagogical importance2.

The Italian inscription reads as follows: ” A / EDUARDO TALAMO / CHE TANTO INTELLIGENTEMENTE / BENIFICO’ – GLI INQUILINI / DELLA CASA BAMBINI / MARSI 58 OFFRONO / MEMORI E RICONOSCENTI / ROMA 1917″.
