Galileo Galilei’s Bust 2

Galileo Galilei’s bust is located in room VII, in Museo Galileo, in Florence. In 1674, the bust was commissioned by Cosimo III to Carlo Marcellini. Under the ripple of the mantle, the right hand tightens the chest two of the instruments that had contributed most to the glory of Galileo: the compass and the telescope1.
