Jean-Martin Charcot died on August 16, 1893, and was buried in a Family Tomb in the Montmartre Cemetery in Paris (Division 29; Chemin Troyon), after receiving the tribute of personnel and patients in the Chapel of the Hôpital de la Salpêtrière. His body was joined in 1936 by that of his son Jean, physician and explorer1.
