A big statue of Louis Pasteur is located in the “Cour d’honneur” of the Sorbonne, in Paris, at the bottom of the staircase leading at the Chapel of Mazarin. On the pedestal of the statue, there is a simple inscription with the name and birth and death years of the great scientist: “Louis Pasteur / 1822 1895”.
