This bronze monument of Marcello Malpighi by Enrico Barberi was erected in 1897 in the main square of Crevalcore, the scientist’s birthplace. On the base of the monument the following inscriptions can be read: (left side) “E. Barberi XV – Settembre 1896”; (right side) “Fonderia G Bastianelli Ospizio S.Michele Roma 1897”.
The plaster model of the monument is preserved in Bologna.
