This spoilt statue of Peter of Abano can be seen – among many others – in the magnificent Prato della Valle in Padua. On the basament, the Latin name of the physician can be read (Petro Aponensi) jointly with the following inscription: “PHILOSOPHO. MEDICO. MATHEMATICO / INGENII. ET. DOCTRINAE. PRAESTANTIA / HUMANAM. FIDEM. SUPERGRESSO”. An other inscription is almost illegible.
