This plaque, located at the Facultade de Medicina e Odontoloxía of Santiago de Compostela, pays tribute to rural doctors through the figure of the physician, writer, and politician Manuel Reimóndez Portela. The tribute marks the twentieth anniversary of the publication of Un médico na aldea, a book that recounts Reimóndez’s experiences caring for families in rural communities, including those with limited economic resources.
The plaque was unveiled on 18 October 2013, the feast day of Saint Luke, patron saint of the Faculty1. On the plaque, the following text can be read:
