Prospero Guidone was born on April 3, 1863 in this ancient palace called “Palazzo Guidone”, in Guardia Perticara (via Garibaldi), a few meters from the old village centre.
Paying close attention to the keystone we can spot the Guidone’s family crest and two Latin senteces:
“CUR VELOX SIGNI NON PRAECEPTA OPTIMA DISCE?”
“HOC FECIT/MENS SOLLERS/NICOLAI XAV. GUIDONE”
He spent here most of his childhood before leaving his hometown and moving to Potenza to achieve his classical studies.
