This is the famous Villa, in Grimaldi, near Ventimiglia, where Serge Voronoff made his famous and controversial experiments of testicular grafting. The Villa is currently a private home and can be admired only from the street. In an adjacent piece of land, no longer belonging to the Villa, a symbolic cage was built to commemorate the real cages where Voronoff held the monkeys for his experiments. Even if people in the surroundings are still well aware of the famous resident, no memorial tablet or monument in the Villa remembers him.
