Aletta Jacobs died on 10 August 1929. Together with her husband, she is commemorated in Westerveld Cemetery in Driehuis with a shared monument placed against the wall of the second columbarium, near the Impluvium. The monument features a bronze relief depicting a man and a woman kneeling on the globe in the act of raising a burning torch. It also features a carved emblem with a snake wrapped around a staff, the traditional symbol of medicine.
