Alexander Fleming’s Bust

This Alexander Fleming‘s bronze head can be seen in the entrance hall to the main conference room of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome. It was a present to the Institute by some pharmaceutical firms. The Italian inscription on the marble basament,as a matter of fact, reads as follows: “ALL’ ISTITUTO SUPERIORE DI SANITA’ / A RICORDO DI SIR ALEXANDER FLEMING / FARMITALIA – LEO – LEPETIT – SQUIBB / ROMA, APRILE 1955”.
