Charles Darwin’s Home Site

A Blue Plaque erected in 1961 by London County Council at Biological Sciences Building, University College of London (site of 110, Gower Street), remembers that Charles Darwin “lived in a house on this site 1838-1842”. During this period, Darwin married his cousin Emma Wedgwood (1839) and had his first two children, William (1839) and Annie (1841)1.
