Edoardo Bassini (1844-1924), famous Italian surgeon, was buried in his family tomb, in the “Cimitero Monumentale” of Pavia, as well as other important Italian medical scientists, such as Camillo Golgi, Bartolomeo Panizza and Adelchi Negri.
Bassini is remembered with the following words: “Prof Edoardo Bassini / Senatore del Regno / clinico chirurgo emerito / della R Università di Padova / N. il 14 aprile 1844 M. il 20 luglio 1924”.
