First Intraocular Lens for Cataract Memorial Tablet

This round plaque, remembering the implant of the first intraocular lens for the treatment of cataract, can be seen in the Central Hall of St Thomas’ Hospital in London. The surgical procedure was performed in St Thomas’ by Harold Ridley on 8th February 1950.
