Giovanni Battista Da Monte’s Lunette

This lunette with a stone bas-relief portrait of Giovanni Battista Da Monte can be seen over the entrance portal of Palazzo Giacomini in Padua (via del Santo, 51). Possibly this palace was Da Monte’s residence (or even his private clinic) in Padua1; it is located just behind the building of the Ospedale di San Francesco Grande when he was a forerunner of modern Clinical medicine.
