This bronze bust of Guido Baccelli, by Giulio Tadolini, can be seen inside the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna (National Gallery of Modern Art) in Rome.
GALLERIA NAZIONALE D’ARTE MODERNA:
Since 1880 Guido Bacceli fulfilled more than once the charge of Public Education minister. He was hardly committed in reformation and promotion of the national artistic patrimony with many decrees. With this role he established, with an administrative order on the 12th of may 1881, the National Gallery of Modern Art, that found a temporary location in Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Via Nazionale (Rome) and that in 1915 was moved to where it is nowadays possible to visit in Valle Giulia, Rome. This bust was donated by Baccelli to honour this event.

We can find on both sides of the bust a mix of elements that link the importance between the medical field of the roman physician, with the representation of the snake and the lasted basement of the Asclepius Temple in Isola Tiberina, and the laurel oak on the bust that symbolized the political field.
