Jacopo Bartolomeo Beccari’s Portrait Copy

The portrait of Jacopo Bartolomeo Beccari, by anonymous author, can be seen on the side wall of the lecture hall of the Istituto Chimico Giacomo Ciamician, in Bologna. It is actually a copy of the real painting, which dates back to the 18th century and is stored in the University Museum of Palazzp Poggi. This painting was conceived as an homage to Beccari, who was the first chair of Applied Chemistry, which was created in 1737 in Bologna’s University.
