Cage Bed

“Apart from goal-oriented therapies, the institutions [in 19th century] still used several means to restrain disturbed patients. One example is this cage bed [in the Museum Dr. Guislain] that was used particularly for the epileptics. The inside of the cage was covered with bands of straw in linen, so that the patient could not hurt himself”1.
