Shennong Sculptures

These ancient sculptures of Shennong can be seen in a showcase of Museum Dr. Guislain in Ghent. “Shennong was the inventor of agriculture and medicine in Chinese legends. He tried hundreds of herbs to test their therapeutic effects and taught people cultivation. That is why he was venerated as the god of agriculture and medicine”1.
