This memorial tablet of Vincenzo Lanza can be seen in Foggia (Piazza XX Settembre, 20) on the facade of the Palazzo Dogana, seat of the Province of Foggia. As we can read on it, it was unveiled on February 9th, 1909, by the Popular University to commemorate Lanza for his merits as physician, politician and citizen.
The Italian inscription reads as follows: “ADDÌ VII FEBBRAIO MDCCCCVIIII / AUSPICE L’UNIVERSITÀ POPOLARE / CONSACRANTE CON SOLENNE CERIMONIA / ASPIRAZIONI A NOVA VITA CIVILE / LA GRANDE ANIMA / DI / VINCENZO LANZA / AVEVA DA’ SUOI CONCITTADINI / GRATI DELLA GLORIA DI LUI / AFFETTUOSO TRIBUTO DI ONORE”.
