Cosimo De Giorgi’s Bust Disappeared

At the beginning of the 20th century it was built a high school in Lecce (Viale Michele de Pietro), dedicated to Cosimo De Giorgi.

In front of the first headquarters was situated a bronze bust in memory of the esteemed and brilliant scientist.

Due to the transfer of the high school to another location, the bust was lost. Probably it was melted with other bronzes during fascist era1.
