Memorial Tablet of the Ca Granda Hospital Foundation

A marble tablet remembering the foundation of the The Ospedale Maggiore, or Ca’ Granda in 1456 can be seen on the portal that today give access to the University Law Library, under the right arcades of the central courtyard.

Francesco Sforza stated in it that the aim of the new hospital was “AD SUSTENTANDOS CHRISTI PAUPERES” (for the sustenance of Christ’s poors).
