This funeral monument of Mariano Semmola can be seen in the Quadrato degli uomini illustri (Square of illustrious figures, 2nd block, n.60) in the Poggioreale Cemetery of Naples.
The monument, lacking something on its top (a bust?), has a very long Italian inscription – almost a short biography – remembering the virtues and merits of the scientist. As can be read in the inscription, the body of Semmola was buried in his family tomb, probably in the same cemetery.
