Giovanni Salemi is buried in the Church of San Domenico, in Palermo (Piazza San Domenico), being a part of the so-called Pantheon of illustrious Sicilians. His burial is placed at the end of the left nave, near the high altar, and consists of a sarcophagus with a long Italian inscription on it, and surmounted by a marble bust of the doctor.
