This is the house where Margaret Fuller, an American journalist, critic, women’s rights advocate and nurses’ coordinator in Roman hospitals, lived in 1849, while she and her husband supported Giuseppe Mazzini’s revolution for the establishment of the Roman Republic1. It is located in Rome (Piazza Barberini 2, on the Rione Colonna side).
The memorial plaque
This plaque, located next to the entrance of the house, commemorates Margaret Fuller with the following Italian inscription:
