Hospital and Church of San Lazzaro Dei Mendicanti

The Hospital and Church of San Lazzaro dei Mendicanti constitute the oldest healthcare nucleus of the current Ospedale Civile SS. Giovanni e Paolo in Venice. Since the early 17th century, the hospital was intended for the care of lepers and the church as the religious side of such care. Up to this date the church works as a chapel for the bigger civic hospital.
