This stone bust of Antonio Pereira Coutinho has been erected in Cascais (Largo da Assunção).
The bust of the municipal doctor was ordered by the president of the Municipality, Engineer José G. Pinto Machado in 1974 but it was only inaugurated on May 14, 1979, on the centenary of his birth by the President of the Municipality at the time, António Alberto Gonçalves Ferreira. The monument was designed by Portuguese sculptor António Duarte and consists of a bust, in blue stone from Cascais. It rests on a cylindrical plinth and bears the following Portuguese inscription: “”D. ANTÓNIO PEREIRA COUTINHO / MEDICO / GRANDE AMIGO DOS POBRES / 1879 – 1964”1.
