Smallpox Eradication Memorial Tablet

This memorial tablet remembering the eradication, in 1977, of the smallpox, can be seen in the entrance hall of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London. The plaque was presented by the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine and was unveiled on the 26 October 1987 by Donald Ainslie Henderson who headed the World Health Organisation’s Smallpox Eradication Programme during the 1960s.
