A little metal memorial plaque remembers Mary Elizabeth Blanche Clark who worked in the old Ely Dispensary of Ely (13, St Mary’s Street) as a district nurse. The English inscription reads as follows: “THE CITY OF ELY PERSPECTIVE / MARY ELIZABETH BLANCHE CLARK / ELY DISTRICT NURSE / 1907-1939 / BRITISH RED CROSS COMMANDANT / IN WORLD WAR TWO”.
