This bronze statue of Moses Maimonides “which commemorates the 850th anniversary of his birth, is in his native Cordoba in a small plaza off Judios Street about 30 yards south of the old and long-disused synagogue”1. On the basament of the statue, apart from his name written in hebrew, there is a small plaque with the following spanish inscription: “BEN MAIMONIDES / TEOLOGO FILOSOFO MEDICO / CORDOBA 1135 EL CAIRO 1204”.
