Petites Loges

The Petites Loges (small lodges) are three little buildings in the Hôpital de la Salpêtrière, Paris. They were built by French architect Charles François Viel between 1786 and 1789 to host some of the mentally diseased women. In front of each door are lined up benches on which the boarders were chained so that they could get some air1.
