Biography
Andrea Bacci (Sant’Elpidio a Mare 1524 – Rome, 1600) was an Italian philosopher, writer and physician during the 16th century. During his life he became the pontifical archiater of Pope Sisto V. He called himself Andrea Baccius Philosophus, Medicus Elpidianus et Civis Romanus.1. In medicine and philosophy he had as a teacher Modestino Casini, who was the pontifical archiater of Pope Pius V. He talks about the Baths of Stigliano in his work De Thermis.
