Baths

The pools where baths were taken are a very typical feature of the Asclepieion of Pergamon, near modern day Bergama.

Baths in warm, cold, or mineral water, and mud cures were being used for purification. This was one of the main therapeutic methods used in Ansclepion together with herbal medicine, dietary regimens, fasting, massages with aromatic oils and ointments, bloodletting, cupping, purgatives, and sun therapy for chronic conditions.
