This marble monument to the memory of Maurizio Bufalini was erected in 1883, in front of the Biblioteca Malatestiana, in Cesena. It is a work of the Florentine sculptor Cesare Zocchi1.
On the sides of the basament, the following sentences can be read: “1883 / A / MAURIZIO BUFALINI / L’ITALIA”(front); “FECE GLORIOSO A CESENA / IL 4 GIUGNO 1787 / QUI NASCENDO”(right); “RINNOVO’ LE MEDICHE SCIENZE / NOBILITO’ LE MORALI / CON L’ARTE / RIVELATRICE DEL VERO”(back)2.
