Salvatore Tommasi’s Bust

This marble bust of Salvatore Tommasi can be seen – among many others – in one of the courtyards of the University Federico II in Naples (via Mezzocannone)1.

On the basament we can read the following italian inscription: “A / SALVATORE TOMMASI / ABRUZZESE MEDICO SOVRANO / INTELLETTO UNIVERSALE / CHE STRINSE IN UNA FEDE / SCIENZA E PATRIA / COLLEGHI AMICI E DISCEPOLI P.[OSERO] / 13 LUGLIO 1901”.
