This monument is situated in the garden of the Facultad de Medicina de San Fernando in Lima.
It represents a traditional symbol of medicine: the Rod of Asclepius, a stick with a serpent coiled around it. On the basement of the monument there are three bronze bas-reliefs representing Asclepius and his two daughters, Hygieia e Panacea.
