Antonio Casares Rodriguez Portrait

This oil on canvas portrait of the chemist Antonio Casares Rodríguez is located in the gallery of rectors at the Colexio de San Xerome (Praza do Obradoiro), seat of the Rectorate of the University of Santiago de Compostela. The portrait was painted by Juan Mateos in 1891. A small plaque on the frame indicates the years during which Casares served as rector: 1872 and the period from 1873 to 18881.
