A green plaque by the Westminster City Council and the Arthur Conan Doyle Society on this house of London (2 Upper Wimpole Street) remembers that “SIR / ARTHUR / CONAN DOYLE / AUTHOR / 1859-1930 / WORKED / AND WROTE HERE / IN 1891”, while he was still trying to practice medicine.
