Joseph Lister lived in this house in London “for the last thirty-four years of his life, at 12 Park Crescent, just round the corner from the north end of Harley Street. He was to this extent a ‘Harley Street’ surgeon’, even though his most definitive work had been carried out in Glasgow and Edinburgh”1.
At a few meters away from the house, in the northern end of Portland Place, a monument to his memory can be seen.
