The simple grave of Florence Nightingale, founder of the modern way of nursing, can be seen in the churchyard of St. Margaret, in East Wellow, Hampshire, England.
It is a four sided monument with inscriptions on each side for the four family members: mother, father and sister of Florence Nightingale. On the Florence side, under a cross, there is this very simple inscription: “F. N. / Born 12 May 1820 / Died 13 August 1910.”
